‘UFO COFFEE BI’ 작품감상
UFO Coffee Company, located in Seoul, is a brand created by roasters with diverse talents. Centered around Kang Eun-sang, a roaster with extensive experience, including being a finalist in the 2017 WCCK roasting competition, UFO is run by a team of seasoned roasters. The name UFO stands for Unique Flavor Orchestration, reflecting the harmonious combination of unique tastes and aromas. It was named to express the exquisite connection between the scents and flavors when experiencing the myriad tastes and aromas of coffee. As the name suggests, it is a brand with a DNA that seeks novelty and avoids complacency. The core of this project was, How can we effectively express this unique asset we possess?

We believed that the unique language and content of UFO, which conveys joy through coffee, should be infused in our approach. The 1980s in America was a golden era for cultural icons, near-perfect industrial design, and the height of popular music, marked by diverse genres and experimentation. We focused on this phenomenon of media fascination during a time when various cultures were flourishing, and diverse attempts were rampant. The paradoxical and contradictory spirit of the 80s, characterized by indiscriminate consumption of industrial products, is strangely similar to UFO's attitude of approaching coffee with professionalism yet encouraging easy and comfortable enjoyment. named considered these aspects and built a witty visual identity design system, including packaging, graphics, materials, and videos that evoke the feel of 80s American industrial products.
